Fire Department

The Town of Cheshire is fortunate to have a volunteer firefighting force that has been serving our community since 1912. The Cheshire Fire Department's fire fighting force consists of a full-time staff of five who work collectively with over 100 highly dedicated professional volunteers.

Fire Department

The Cheshire Fire Department is responsible for:

  • Fire suppression activities, training, and public education
  • Maintenance of three fire stations and over 15 vehicles and apparatus
  • Burning permits Hazardous waste disposal
  • The Fire Marshal's Office handles State Fire Code investigations, inspections, and education, as well as Building Permit plan reviews.
