The Town of Cheshire is fortunate to have a volunteer firefighting force that has been serving our community since 1912. The Cheshire Fire Department's fire fighting force consists of a full-time staff of five who work collectively with over 100 highly dedicated professional volunteers.
The Cheshire Fire Department is responsible for:
Fire suppression activities, training, and public education
Maintenance of three fire stations and over 15 vehicles and apparatus
Burning permits Hazardous waste disposal
The Fire Marshal's Office handles State Fire Code investigations, inspections, and education, as well as Building Permit plan reviews.
