The Cheshire Police Department works to ensure and protect the safety and welfare of all Cheshire residents and visitors to maintain and enhance the quality of life.
The department is comprised of two divisions with 48 sworn officers, eight civilian dispatchers, four civilian administrative personnel, and two Animal Control officers. The two divisions include the Support Services Division and the OperationsDivision.
Seven Specialized Units operate among the divisions: ATV Patrol; Bicycle Patrol; Honor Guard; Crash Reconstruction Squad; Motorcycle Patrol; Special Response Team (S.R.T.); and Warrant Service Squad.
The Police Department also offers a wide variety of information, programs, and services that help keep our residents safe.
