Sewer Division (WPCD)

The Water Pollution Control Department (WPCD) strives to serve the public by operating a well-maintained wastewater collection and conveyance system, and in doing so, taking the necessary steps to protect public health and the environment. The WPCD’s goal is to provide sanitary sewer needs in an efficient and cost-effective way while continually planning, maintaining, and upgrading our facilities to meet current and future needs.

The WPCD provides sanitary sewer service to approximately 5,000 residential, commercial, and industrial properties in Cheshire. The town’s sewer system is comprised of ten pump stations and approximately 120 miles of collection system piping; and also controls and operate sludge handling and disposal equipment.  Staff works in conjunction with the Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) to best serve the Town’ resident’s and maintain environmentally friendly operations.
