Youth & Family Counseling/Clinical Services

Overview

Youth and Family Counseling is provided at no cost to Cheshire school-aged children and their families. Individual, family, and group therapy sessions are available.

Referrals are received from schools, alternative school programs, police departments, juvenile probation, the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, clergy, parents, peers, and young people themselves. Clients are seen either in the Town Hall or at school.

Our philosophy and our goal is to work with family units to enable them to remain healthy and intact.

Daytime or evening sessions can be arranged.

For more information or to make a referral or an appointment, please contact the Youth and Social Services Department at 203-271-6690. The phones are staffed between 9 am and 3 pm, but you can leave a message during off hours.

Internship Program

The Town of Cheshire Human Services Department offers internships in Youth and Family Counseling for students pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. Call Director Michelle Piccerillo for further information.
